WHAT IS BIM ?
BIM, or Building Information Modeling, is a method that ensures optimal project management. For example, it allows to establish a relevant database, including all the useful information about the project. All actors involved in the project can access and enrich it. Indeed, the BIM allows a collaborative dimension of work. The BIM generates a new organization of work and a more precise execution of tasks, while informing all the stakeholders on the progress and objectives. The BIM also includes 3D digital models project, allowing a visual representation of the building characteristics.
BIM is therefore one of the most effective working methods to support your project management : it represents the planning of the projects and costs, in addition to defining a real framework at the various stages of the project (design, construction, execution …). The project model carried out according to the BIM approach is a real contractual document in the industrial projects management.
There are many BIM objectives, and they are inherent to the successful implementation and execution of the project :
- Conception, planning and project management
- Precise setting, and available to all actors
- Collaboration of engineers, architects and companies
- Data centralization
- Relevant information shared
- Project analysis
- Real time cost estimation
